These are our partner projects

Research projects involved

While InnoFuels is providing the big picture and ensuring that all the players are networked, specific research activities are taking place in other projects at the same time. These projects also have the rapid ramp-up of renewable fuels as their goal. Two of these projects are based at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology:

Refineries for Future

The Refineries for Future project, or REF4 for short, develops, validates and evaluates sustainable refinery concepts. Renewable methanol, Fischer-Tropsch hydrocarbons and pyrolysis oils are used to produce, test and evaluate the fuels that are currently in use and will be required in the foreseeable future, using scalable technologies. In addition, a classification is carried out in the context of the regulatory framework.

About the project
reFuels-Demo

The research project is a successor to the ‘reFuel – rethinking fuels’ project, which took place under the umbrella of the Strategy Dialogue for the Automotive Industry of the State of Baden-Württemberg (SDA) from 2019 to 2022 and looked at the entire value chain of renewable fuels: from energy suppliers and fuel production to suppliers and system development, as well as engine and vehicle manufacturers.
